Big Ambitions Factory Recipes and Production Chains

Every factory machine in Big Ambitions holds a recipe list with four columns: the output, how many units it produces, the input it consumes, and the processing time in minutes. You choose the output on the machine, and ingredients reach it either from an input station or from another machine upstream via conveyor belts.

Here are the chains that are actually documented, with real processing times.

Clothing — Industrial Sewing Machine ($50,000)

The cleanest chain in the game and the cheapest entry into manufacturing:

Read the input column carefully: cheap and expensive garments need different fabric, and classic and modern need different fabric again. That four-way split is exactly why “which wholesale dealer has clothing items” is such a common question — the same split exists upstream when you are buying finished clothing instead of making it.

Expensive garments take 50% longer to produce. If your machine is the bottleneck rather than your materials, cheap lines produce more units per hour.

Baking — Automated Baking Machine ($50,000)

The chain that feeds coffee shops, fast food and supermarkets:

Note that the inputs here are themselves intermediate goods — dough, laminated dough, cupcake batter, raw pizza. A full bakery line therefore needs an upstream machine producing those, which is where a food assembly machine ($35,000) or food cutting machine ($55,000) comes in. This is the shape of most food chains: two or three machines feeding each other by conveyor.

Expensive gems take twice as long as cheap ones, on a machine that costs nearly a quarter of a million. Jewelry manufacturing is a late-game commitment, and the upstream step — turning uncut gems into cut gems — needs its own machine.

Reading Any Recipe Table Yourself

The same pattern holds across all 19 machines:

  1. Choose the output on the machine itself. A machine will not produce anything until you pick what it should make.
  2. Feed the input from an input station or from another machine via a conveyor belt. Conveyor belt splitters ($7,500) let one upstream machine feed two downstream ones.
  3. Processing time is per unit. Doubling throughput means a second machine, not a faster setting.
  4. Finished goods leave through the output station and then move to your stores through the warehouse delivery system.

Clothing at $50,000 is the standard first factory: one machine, one input type per product, and a clothing store is a strong retail business in its own right.

About Alcohol

“How to manufacture alcohol” is one of the most-searched production questions for this game. The equipment involved is the bottling machine ($95,000) and the batch pasteurizer ($110,000), with raw materials — barley, hops, grapes, juniper berries, blue agave and so on — imported through Aquatic Bay Cargo, the liquor importer. Fermented intermediates (fermented beer, fermented wine, fermented whiskey) exist as separate goods, so expect a multi-stage line rather than one machine. A liquor store selling what you brew is one of the tidier vertical integrations in the game.
